Holiday Greetings

Hello, all:
Christmas is over and it was good. I got a fair share of candy, so I piece-mealed through Christmas. I got one Bible text as a gift to you--Ezekiel 36:29 "I will save you from all your uncleannesses." But me and my wife had a wonderful Christmas, especially watching the granddaughters open presents and helping others open theirs. Oh, to be young again, or should I say, younger. The next ho-ho-ho will be New Year's. Thank you for this year of whatever-you-call this, blogging. May the Lord be with you this coming year. And may all our blogs be plentiful.
Sincerely,
Dean
Ho-ho-ho, another year!

My Birthday

Hello all,
Birthday boy here. I had a pleasant wake-up this morning with the wifey-poo waking me up very gentle, saying happy birthday, and handing me a birthday card. It said "A little wish that's short and sweet, Happy birthday..." And inside it said, "Now when do we eat?" "Love, your wife, AKA Teresa." With it was a new washcloth, my favorite kind with exfolliating netting on one side.

She said when I brought the card to Easterday, not to tell everyone that all she gave me was a washcloth and card, because she also gave me a long-sleeve Western cut, snap up, duel pockets, tall man's, plaid, insulated shirt, which I dearly love.

Whoever reads this and was at my "drop in" party this past weekend, thank you for coming by. Every year gets better, I hope.

I'm so tired I can't keep my eyes open. Good night.

Here's my younger days...

Here's my new birthday shirt, which I am very fond of.

Thoughts on Thanksgiving

Hello...Thanksgiving...
We are all too unthankful for etc. My list is so long. My dearest thanks is for my wife. Oh, and I have to mention my daughter, son-in-law, and their two girls. And did I say my wife? Without any of them, it would not have been much of a Thanksgiving. But with them, a blessed Thanksgiving.

Some thanks go to the many kinds of foods and desserts, nice weather, and a reserved hall so we didn't mess up anybody's kitchen more than it already was.

I'm especially thankful that all those on my prayer list are doing fairly well.

Dean: Let's see, was Thanksgiving yesterday?
Me: No.
Dean: Day before yesterday?
Me: No, it was three days ago, Dean.
Dean: Oh, well, time flies. Hasta luego.

PUSH

Hello again.

Here we go with nothing to say, but my new acronym is P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens). God in all His mercy always let's something happen. Look at me. I prayed until my wife caught me. It wasn't easy, but we married. Praise the Lord. Now with two granddaughters and Jesus on my side, it doesn't get any better. If you were sitting here by me tonight, I'd definitely show you their pictures. God has blessed.

Until next time, pray.

Amen for my Wife (Girlfriend)

Dear People,
I am so thankful that God gave me a Christian wife, who is now my caregiver, whom does an excellent job. She knows my most every need and anticipates most of them. And I thank God for finding her for me. She is probably the only person in this world who could live with me, other than my mother.

Thank you, Jesus.

Praises

Friday is here again. And my blessed Sabbath starts at sundown. Praise the Lord for Sabbath!

I hope and pray that Jesus soon returns, and that we look forward to that as much as the Sabbath.

Good-bye,
Dean or Idaho

A Great Poem

I really like this poem. This is our ticket to heaven. Keep growing.

Oh, the bitter pain and sorrow
That a time could ever be,
When I proudly said to Jesus,
"All of self and none of me."

Yet He found me: I beheld Him
Bleeding on the accursed tree;
And my wistful heart said faintly,
"Some of self and some of thee."

Day by day His tender mercy,
Healing, helping, full and free
Brought me lower, while I whispered,
"Less of self and more of thee."

Higher than the highest heavens,
Deeper than the deepest sea,
"Lord, thy love at last has conquered;
None of self and all of thee."

Coming Soon

Good morning, you-all,
It is by the grace of God and a nagging wife that I take up her hands to type this. I don't really know what to say except Jesus is coming soon and I want to be ready.

Have a good day, that will be all,

Jesus Loves Me--even when I'm bad

Jesus loves me,
this I know,
for the Bible tells me so...

P.S. Many life experiences show me the love of God. Jesus said we must become like little children...
I'm trying to do just that.

My Wife

My wife is a dictatorial, fanatical (trying to make me vegan), stubborn arguer. But probably, that's the reason I love her.

Good Night

Howdy all,
It's 8:30--time for me to go to bed. But for those of you who would like to read my blog, here goes. Today it seemed like something else. I didn't go to Easterday and I don't know about tomorrow. Praise God I still have a little part of my mind left and that my gift from God, my dear sweet wife, is continuing to put up with me.  It's a long crooked road though. The doctor gave me a test and said that I would live. Well, both feet are on top of the ground, so I  daresn't complain. Not much news, but I still love my wife. Hasta luego.

My Long Journey

Well, I think I'll write about friendship. All my friends need prayer, but some more than others. To them this message goes out. Talk to Jesus often. It has helped me.

Growing up in Christ is sweeter than I ever imagined possible. And I think my wife likes it too. To those of you who know me best, it's been a long journey. But with Christ Jesus' help I've come a long ways and have a long ways yet to go.

Good night and to bed I go,

My Day

Here's what I did today. Woke up just in time. Got ready to go see the doctor. Saw the doctor and he said I was going to live. All my signs were good. He said I look good on paper. Came home.

Ate lunch. Went to the Madonna pool and did water exercises. Came home.

Ate supper. Nurse case manager came to visit. Went to bed early to read.

Closing thought:
When God closes the doors on a person, the doors of happiness always open somewhere else. Keep on looking.

The End of the Week

I guess I made it through another week. Both feet are on top of the ground. Although I count my blessings and name them one by one. One of my biggest blessings is a Christian wife and a daughter who is trying to be a Christian. I'm so thankful for a God who loves even me. I don't know who all I'll reach this coming week with the love of God. How miraculous it is.

My prayers are with all my loved ones and especially those friends of mine who are trying to be Christians. Lord willing, it won't be much longer till Jesus comes. We've been hearing that for several years now. Let's hope it won't be too long now.

And lest I should forget, I praise the Lord for some wonderful Christian friends, who have made life easier for me. Without mentioning any names, thank you for the help in life that I've received.

May Jesus come soon and take us with Him.

Good night,
Dean or Idaho

The Middle of My Week

I don't know what I did Tuesday, but I slept almost 24 hours it feels like. I got up to a wonderful supper. Fried potatoes and steamed broccoli. Steamed the way I like, fresh and mushy.

I was sitting here thinking and I was thinking about fasting from TV all day, when Teresa told me I had to fast tonight from food to get a blood draw in the morning.

More later, maybe,

Dean or Idaho
P.S. I have a wonderful wife. And some good friends. Please leave a comment if you read my blog.

The Beginning of My Week

It's pretty nice to have a Sunday to get slowly back in the groove, after having such a wonderful Sabbath. Sabbath is a time to slow down after a busy week, to think about God, to study about God, to hear about God, and to talk to God.

Sunday I look forward to having pancakes or French toast. It used to be my thing to make pancakes and/or eggs for anybody who wanted them. Now, it's "our" thing. We decide what to have, then Teresa "helps" make them--so now it's "our" thing.

Monday is a good day, because I don't go to Easterday [my adult day program] on that day any more. I am looking forward to swimming at the Madonna pool today though. I can get away from Teresa. I don't mind telling my therapist "no". She had me do a bunch of exercises last time. Walking the width of the pool 5 or 6 times. It was alright.

More later.

P.S. In case you got a different idea, I have a very good wife. I am blessed, because I don't think any other woman would put up with me. (also dictated)

Willpower

If I were a poet, and didn't know it, I'd be writing something like this:

The 23rd Channel
The TV is my shepherd, I shall not want. It makes me lie down on the sofa. It leads me away from the Scriptures. It damages my soul. It leads me in the path of sex and violence for the sponsor's sake. Yea, though I walk in the shadow of my Christian responsibilities, there will be no interruption, for the TV is with me. Its cable and remote control, they comfort me. It prepares a commercial before me in the presence of my worldliness. It anoints my head with humanism, my coveting runneth over. Surely laziness and ignorance shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in my house watching TV forever, Amen.

Thank you, my wife, for typing this. May it do someone some good. (Including me. The wife adds.)
